Content is king for search engine optimization.  But excuses for not creating content often trumps the need.  Creating content does not have to be tedious and time consuming.  For one, you can hire a copywriter or buy articles.  (Though, be aware that the latter option has its faults.)  Content may also be short, as long as it is useful.  Here are some ideas to add conent to your site.

1. Create an online newsletter and archive old issues
2. How-to articles
3. Guest editorials (Have someone else write content for free and link tohis or her site as a reward)
4. Create contests
5. Wrote a blog
6. Answer frequently asked questions
7. Create a kids page related to your site
8. Build a community where others post content (Forums and message boards are two examples)
9. Post your company news releases online
10. Myths about your company, products, etc
11. Videos, podcasts and audio clips.  If you already have it, even better. 
    

Not only does content help search engine results, but good quality content will create returning vistors to your site.
